Nick, Alex and I all launched off of that bridge today. Our guide, Ryan, strapped the main bungee line to my legs and then I waddled to the edge of the ledge where I had just enough time to take in the 216-meter drop...
Before I knew it, the Jump Master (guy in charge of the jumping) was counting down - "five, four, three, two, one, bungee!" Without a second thought I leapt out over the edge.
It was the craziest sensation ever. I was in free-fall for about five seconds and all that was going through my head was, "don't scream." I'm proud to say that I did not scream.
After falling 130-meters, the bungee finally sprung me back up and I bounced around a few times. I don't know how many times I bounced around; I was too busy thinking about what I should do with my arms... should i let them hang over my head? Keep them perpendicular to my body? What looked cooler...? Finally my secondary rope guy (he told me his name was Hit Me... not sure if I believe that) arrived and pulled me upright.
I know I overuse this word, but the bungee jump was awesome! I can check yet another thing off my bucket list!
